태양광+인프라 부문에 특화된 글로벌 재생에너지 전문 운용사인 넥스트에너지 캐피탈(NextEnergy Capital, 이하 NEC)이 자사의 다섯 번째 전략인 넥스트파워 V ESG(‘NPV ESG’)의 2차 마감을 2억6500만 달러로 마무리했다고 발표했다. 

NPV ESG는 OECD에 초점을 맞춘 태양광 및 배터리 스토리지 전략으로, 20억달러 하드캡에 15억달러를 목표로 하며 현재까지 총 7억4500만달러의 약정을 확보했다.

새로운 자본에는 영국 LGPS 투자 풀, 네덜란드 연기금, 기존 넥스트파워 III ESG 투자자의 후속 펀드 투자(re-up)가 포함된다. 이 새로운 투자자들은 기존의 NPV ESG 투자자인 독일 직업연금기금 KLP 및 북유럽의 대형 연기금에 합류했다. NPV ESG는 계속해서 추가 자본을 유치할 계획이며, 현재 여러 투자자가 실사를 진행 중이다.

NPV ESG의 투자 전략은 엄선된 OECD 시장의 태양광+ 인프라 부문을 타깃으로 하며, 각 목표 시장에서 중요한 포트폴리오를 구축하여 운영 실적을 쌓아 2033년 펀드 보유 기간 종료 시점에 포트폴리오를 매각하는 것이다. 

NPV ESG는 2007년부터 쌓은 NEC의 성공적인 실적을 활용하는데, 400건 이상의 유틸리티 규모 프로젝트 인수와 과거의 펀드를 통해 투자자에게 우수한 재무적 수익을 제공했다. 

투자 한도에 도달하여 c.4GW를 공급할 때, NPV ESG는 연간 최대 110만 가구에 전력을 공급할 수 있는 충분한 청정 에너지를 생산하고 연간 최대 천연가스 약 2억2000만㎥에 해당하는 화석 연료 소비를 방지할 것으로 예상된다.

NPV ESG is an OECD-focused solar and battery storage strategy targeting $1.5 billion with a $2 billion hard cap that has secured $745 million in total commitments to date.

The new capital includes commitments from a UK LGPS investment pool, a Dutch pension fund, and another re-up from an existing NextPower III ESG investor. These new investors join existing NPV ESG investors KLP, a German occupational pension fund, and a large Nordic pension fund. NPV ESG will continue welcoming further capital, with several investors currently active in due diligence.

NPV ESG’s investment strategy targets the solar+ infrastructure sector in carefully selected OECD markets, with the objective of building significant portfolios in each target market, establishing an operational track record and divesting the portfolio at the end of the fund’s holding period in 2033. 

NPV ESG leverages NEC’s successful track record since 2007, with over 400 utility-scale projects acquired and previous funds delivering superior financial returns to investors. Upon reaching its investment ceiling and delivering c.4GW, 

NPV ESG is forecasted to generate enough clean energy to power the equivalent of up to 1.1 million households per year and avoid an estimated fossil fuel consumption of up to nearly 220 million m3 of natural gas annually
